PGCE Funding and Support
- We will charge trainees a fee of £2,200 at the beginning of the course. We are happy to arrange a payment plan to spread the burden over the period of the course.
- Trainees will be paid the Training Bursary of (either £6,000 / £9,000) by the Learning Institute. This is made in nine equal monthly instalments payable from October to June.
Trainees are eligable to apply for the following using PN1 from your Local Authority or on www.studentsupportdirect.co.uk.
- Tuition Fee Loan of £2,200. This is paid by the Student Loan Company directly to the Learning Institute. This incurs interet only after the course has ended and is not means tested. We would strongly advise trainees to consider applying for this loan.
- Maintainance Grant of £1,200 (non means tested) and £1,500 (means tested) paid to trainees by the Student Loan Company (whether they apply for a loan or not) in three instalments over the year.
- Maintenance Loan of up to £3,205 paid to trainees by the Student Loan Company
- Golden Hello payment of £5,000 / £2,500 made via salary payments at the beginning of the second year teaching for teachers in shortage subjects.
